Umatter® is a registered program rooted in both evidence-based research and the wisdom of lived experience. Each offering is designed with clear goals and objectives, creating learning environments that honor different ways of learning and support growth in knowledge, skills, and attitudes.

Umatter® Suicide Prevention Awareness and Skills Training aims to enhance knowledge, comfort, and skills to identify those at risk for suicide and resources to get help. This learning exchange includes a discussion of best practices for suicide prevention in your organization or community setting. Each month, Center for Heath and Learning offers Umatter® Suicide Prevention Awareness and Skills Training in a 2-hour virtual format for the public. This training is also available in-person.

Umatter® for Schools is a program for suicide prevention developed by the Center for Health and Learning and is intended for teams of school professionals. The course consists of asynchronous, self-paced learning and virtual live Zoom sessions. Participants will gain knowledge, skills, and resources to develop curriculum, procedures, and policies related to suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention within their school settings.

Umatter® for Youth and Young Adults (YYA) Mental Health Wellness Promotion and Community Action is a youth leadership and engagement program which helps young people develop the skills and resilience necessary to take a positive personal and community wellness approach to mental health. Umatter® YYA is carried out with the support of adult facilitators who work with youth and teach skills that foster resilience and create norms for self-care and help-seeking in schools and community settings.

Umatter® Training of Trainers is a program that equips individuals who have previously completed the Umatter® Suicide Prevention Awareness and Skills Training program to facilitate the training in their communities or places of work. Participants will gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence along with the materials and support to bring suicide prevention awareness to their communities.
